Save Marcus
An IB project

We founded Save Marcus to help strengthen the rescue ecosystem and reduce euthanasia rates. Our focus is on increasing visibility: we think that the greatest need is to activate more adopters. Our goal is to develop new ways for businesses and shelters to inspire more people to become rescuers.
Our plan is multifaceted (possibly too multifaceted, but we'll cling to high hopes for now).

Partnerships with brands and businesses. In a world of constrained resources, we think that the best way to increase shelter visibility is through brand partnerships. Businesses and brands with aligned values can deepen their brand, engage their customer, and create unprecedented visibility through product offerings and storytelling that carry a rescue message. See more about this idea under Brand Collab Lab.

Support for emerging and growing rescue-oriented brands. We've been investors, board members, and strategic advisers at multiple mission-driven startups and growth companies. We know the dynamics and challenges and are gratified to leverage that experience to help new businesses that are focused on promoting rescue.

Support for shelter and rescue organizations. We've gotten to know many wonderful people in this field and seen the deep resource challenges they face. We are developing materials and programs to help local organizations increase their visibility with low cost.

Owned brands. We're incubating new products and brands that are focused on promoting rescue awareness. We know from past experience that idea brands and products can be powerful visibility drivers. We'll share the data we generate to help other businesses in this space as well.

Research, education, community engagement. We maintain a research alliance with The University of Arizona and engage also to help educate and deepen communities' awareness and understanding of rescue.
